JENNIFER L. READ

 

JENNIFER L. READ joined us four years ago as our full-time faculty in design and technical direction, and is now Chairperson of the department.   Jennifer comes to us from Whitworth University, where she worked as an Instructor, Technical Director, Costume Designer and Lighting Designer since 2006.

 

Jennifer received her MFA in Theatre, with an emphasis in Lighting Design, from Florida State University and her B.A. in Dramatic Arts from the UC Santa Barbara.

 

Jennifer has designed sets, lights, costumes and sound for many theatrical productions, including Hay Fever, Eurydice, Once Upon a Mattress, The Illusion, Antigone, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Crazy for You, Two Gentlemen of Verona, to name but a few.

 

For LAVC, Jennifer has created scenery and/or lights for Midsummer Night's Dream, Wonder of the World, Cripple of Inishmaan, Ring Round the Moon, Syzygy, Romeo and Juliet, Living Out, Connectivity, Avenue Q, Peter and Wendy, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, and AliceN.
